Hello All, just trying to understand the Run Out Of Time (ROOT) rule. Has anyone PASS NCLEX with the ROOT rule? Do you guys understand the ROOT Rule? Thanks

The way I understand it is if you Run out of time it takes your last 50 questions and if you got more than half right and were above the passing "line" you pass. I'm sure you can look at the NCLEX's site and find the exact answer though.
Haven't heard of anyone taking the full time. Sounds like someone trying to cheese the system to me.

Thanks guys. I just wanted to know if anyone ran out of time and still pass. Also, why would one be judged on only the last 60 questions when you Laboured with say 135, 150, 200, 220 or so items and only be judged on the last 60 items. It don't seems logical to me.
Why be judged for 75 or say even 265? Why not 4000? Don't know. A bunch of people with a way better degree than I decided that a computer system could figure out if we are good enough to be nurses or not. It's all to ensure that we have the ability to provide quality care so no use complaining.
