Congrats.. I'm glad to see you still check in Modgoth1. We need all the help and encouragement we can get in order to finish this dang degree.. especially from someone on the other side.

Specializes in Psych/AOD.

You will succeed just as those who finished before you did cincinursemary!

Thanks... hope so. Still have 10 courses to take. Had to slow down due to health issues this summer- had to have surgery. Put me back at least a semester, maybe longer.

After not getting my diploma and reading in this thread about others getting theirs, I finally checked MyOhio and saw a message dated 3 July that stated I was clear for graduation this summer. Guess that explains not getting the diploma.

Kind of annoying that that despite filing (and paying) months ago for graduation - not to mention getting CatMail message that my application for graduation in May was successfully received - I now get to wait a few more months!

So I guess it will be the fall before I actually get my diploma, nearly a year after I completed everything. As I said, disappointing. Hopefully I don't find a message in September saying that my application for graduation has been successfully received for December . . .

chuckster... that stinks. I think I would be more than disppointed. What do you think went wrong?

Or they make you pay another 50 bucks to reapply for graduation since "you" changed terms ;-).

OK I know that you were joking but guess what - I do have to pay an additional fee for my diploma.

It seems that I ticked a box on the May 2013 graduation form indicating that I would complete my degree requirements in "Summer 2012 - 2013" which was enough to get me bounced from whatever happens at Ohio to actually award the degree. So despite the fact that my DARS stated in 2012 that I completed the requirements to graduate, Ohio declined to award me the degree this past May. It's almost inconceivable to me that there is no cross-checking with the DARS. In my case, even with me ticking the wrong box, why is it that they assumed I completed in Summer 2013 when it clearly also states Summer 2012? Definitely my bad but ridiculous to the point of becoming sublime.

Right now, it appears that my official graduation will not be any earlier than than the last summer session and that my diploma will not be forthcoming until October. Ironically, this is a full year after I completed the requirements to graduate. The real kick in the face is that Ohio wants an additional fee over and above the $50 graduation fee I paid in February.

I frankly do not intend to pay the extra fee and have asked instead for a letter stating that I've completed the requirements for the BSN and that the award of the degree is pending. This means that I will not have a diploma but I already have three others, so that's not such a big deal. It is however, disappointing and hopefully will serve as a lesson to others.

Caveat emptor.

Yes Chuckster I really was joking. I'm so sorry for your misfortune (for lack of another acceptable term). I marked that I planned to walk in graduation because there wasn't a box to mark saying how can I possibly decide a year ahead of time? ;-). Now I wonder if this will come back to bite me because I've decided I don't plan to go to graduation. I'll probably have to pay 50 bucks to not walk at graduation.

Maybe you can get your Master's before you ever get your diploma from OU ;-).
