Just wondering if anyone has applied to RSCC nursing for fall of 2016?? If so what classes have you completed and what classes are you in currently? I'm in microbiology now and it's hard and we just started. I made an A in A&P I and a B in A&P II and a B in college algebra and passed the HESI A2 exam. So I hope to get accepted. What classes has everyone else completed or are in?
Hi! I'm finishing up the last semester of the nursing program. Hallelujah! I believe we started with under 100 students in our program and have lost several along the way. Yes, it's a tough program and you really have to study, study, study....but it's a great program & I'm glad I chose RS to complete my nursing degree. I've been on the Knoxville campus and the instructors have been very supportive and helpful. It's tough for a reason & you'll be a better nurse from being in this program. I've been able to still work part-time while in school although it hasn't been easy. It's definitely a huge commitment that you have to stick to & stay motivated but it's doable. As far as getting in, those in my class had varying grades for pre-reqs and some were still finishing up pre-reqs so it probably depends on who you are up against, the other applicants. I made sure I had all of my pre-reqs done & A's in all classes just so I didn't take any chances. I know others who didn't though and were still accepted. Yes, Pellissippi is a good backup to apply to just in case. Good luck to all of you!
Oh that's good. I hope we do too. I emailed the nursing program and asked about when they think they will start sending emails out for acceptance and denial and he said start checking our email at the end of this month and the beginning of next month because that's when they are going to start. I'm glad other people get on here to look for sources. It's so helpful lol.
Yikesy thank you for your input. I heard all those things and I'm ready to jump in and get started. Where there a lot of males and females in your program when you started ? and how did they assign you to a campus ? Was it based off where you lived? And what color scrubs did you all where and what about the test? How often did you have test?
I think there were about 10 men in the program when it originally started. It's about half now. When you register for classes you have the choice to sign up for which campus you'd like but it's also based on how many spaces are available so make sure you register as soon as it opens. They try to assign you to clinical based on what area you live in. The scrubs are maroon. They'll give you a syllabus with test dates, etc. & other info at orientation before each semester starts so you can be better prepared.

That's what my friend who is in it now says. Thank you for answering our question :) I'm surprised no one else hasn't gone this far to see who else applied.
