Hello, I'm in need of great help! I am going crazy trying to find the best program for me. I have a bachelors degree in another field, and I've been working RN for seven years. My head is spinning and I need to know if anyone has taken an online RN to BSN course, that was accelerated for nurses that already have a bachelors degree in another field. It seems I can't get past the pages where they just want to send you information. I did that years ago and I got hounded on thephone for months and months and months. Please help any experience or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!

Typically RN-to-BSN programs for people with previous BA/BS degrees can be done in a calendar year (Fall-Spring-Summer, or Summer-Fall-Spring) depending on how fast you're willing to go and the time you have to devote to it. There's no need for an "accelerated" program because your previous degree already eliminates much of the extraneous coursework.

You wouldn't have any acceleration, because the BSN courses in these programs are just nursing, having nothing to do with your other degree. The advantage is that your other degree would assure you that any general ed. requirements are out of the way. If you want a curriculum example, check out UMass Boston's RN to BSN online program.

I was in your shoes in 2010- and six months later had my BSN for ~$3k. At WGU you CAN accelerate- I did 23 credits in a single, six-month long term. Bonus- if you do accelerate, you pay NO ADDITIONAL TUITION for the extra courses you fit into a term. Double bonus- ALL books are provided as e-texts, the only thing you need to buy is an APA manual.
Online, accredited, affordable, and an NLN Center of Excellence.
Thanks so much!! Did you have a bachelors degree in another field?
Yes- I had a liberal arts degree from Excelsior.
