RN TO BSN Important Question

Published

So I competed my Pre Reqs at a community college and got my RN from Unitek College which is a CCNE and Nationally Accredited school. Can I do a RN to BSN bridge with my license from Unitek. Does it matter what school I went to?

Unitek College, California + Nevada offers LPN/LVN degree and Associate of Science in Vocational Nursing programs; along with generic BSN and BSN completion programs. They do not offer a diploma nor associate degree in nursing ASN/ADN. The college does not grant one a license-- licensure is a function of state government.

Upon college completion, one submits application to the state to take the national nursing exam NCLEX-PN or NCLEX -RN and upon passing obtain state issued nursing license. So if you passed RN NCLEX exam, should already have a BSN from this college.

This. And the program is NOT regionally accredited.

There is a difference between a degree and a license. You can only do an RN- BSN program if you have already passed NCLEX and have your RN license. If not, then you only have a diploma or degree.

Best of luck regardless.

Did you ever find a regionally accredited school who will accept your nationally accredited ADN ?
