RN State Board Meds....unknow.

If somebody can answer this, I would appreciate it!

Now, I've been reading a lot of threads lately of those who have taken the boards who passed successfully and have said that they have encountered questions to medications that they have NEVER heard of.

I know for sure I may encounter some tommorrow when I take my RN boards.

My friend who took the test also (which she passed) said she got questions of meds she has never, never heard of before and were not in Nclex books.

Now, my question is......Why in the world do they ask questions of unknown meds that we have never heard of, which of course we may not know any s/e or teaching to this drug? Is it one of those questions that are the trial one's?

Anyone know?

The NCLEX exam can use what ever they want, they are interested in seeing what you will do if you have a patient that is prescribed a med that you have never given.

I would not worry about anything at this point in time, too close to test date to be reviewing anything else.

Go and get a good night sleep and best of luck on your exam tomorrow.

(p.s. you should not even be on the computer now.)

Alsie04 and to all my new friends I made,

So sweet of you to say that, I appreciate it SO much!

Just as much as I enjoy reading everyone's threads and posties, we all have been supportive and caring with one another. That what us future nurses and current nurses are all about......to give lend a helping hand, emotionally, and spiritually!

To me reading all the positive and encouraging words just uplifts me and of course makes you want to pass that energy to someone else who is just not feeling it.

Again, I wish you all so much LUCK in your future testings and hope to still keep in touch with you all!

Ok, well Im off to bed now....just checking my emails and wanted to post one more posting before I hit the hay.

I'm off to an early start at 0600.....going to church mass at 0630 to ask a blessing from our heavenly father. And then after that, go get some good breakfast, relax and then hit on out about 1130 to the center and take my test at 1pm.

Ok, good nite and post to ya tommorrow and see how it went!!!!
