RN Salary North Dallas

Published

Hello! I will be moving to the Plano/Richardson area very soon. I have a year experience in PCU and would like to get a position in ICU. Does anyone know what I can expect to make with a year experience? I currently make $22/hr in San Antonio and am still at my first job. I am specifically looking at Baylor Hospital in Plano, but am open to other hospitals as well.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

In the north Dallas area, the new grad RN pay ranges from $21.50 to $25 per hour at most of the major hospitals. Baylor is offering the lowest pay rate at $21.50, whereas Parkland is offering a rate that is closer to the $25 hourly range. Since you have about 1 year of experience, your pay might be higher, but not much higher.

I'm moving to the DFW area very soon. Does anyone have any idea what I canmake in the ICU with one year experience. I am currently making 22/hour so I hope that I can make at least $25/hour. Does that sound like it is out of the ballpark?

OKAY the average nurse probably makes about 25 -30 depending on experiece and ICU nurses usually can take in the higher end. Remember if you aim too high you might get tossed so always put negotiable on the rate line. However. When negotiating say this is what I am making but my offers are blah blah and blah at other places but your the place I like the most so I would like blah as the pay rate. I would ask for about 24 and say I have had offers of that and that the cost of living and cost of moving. Also volunteer to get your certification in ICU and any extra ACLS and Pals. good luck.

I make $24/hr base with differentials of $4.50 for nights and $6.50 for weekends. When all is said and done, I generally make between $33 and $38 per hour.
