For a listing of hospitals in Seattle-Tacoma (or elsewhere):
Happy hunting!!!!
A friend of mine worked at a hospital in Seattle. She was a new grad and she made like $25, then she hired on with a travel company, signing on with the same hospital for 6 week assignments and the hours she chose making $42 an hour!!!
Just wondering what company is that? I'd like to sign on. :)

Where was that she made $25?? All the hospitals in the Seattle area pay generally $21/hr now for new grads. Maybe with shift differentials a person could make close to $25. The pay should be more for the cost of living.
This thread is a little old, but I thought I read on some WA job postings that the pay was up to $38/hour. Is that new?
Depends on experience and if you are in a needed specialty...several Seattle area hospitals are offering bonuses ($10,000 for ICU and $5,000 for ER; payable over 2 years). I wouldn't be too surprised if an experienced specialty nurse could be at $38 an hour, especially after shift differential.

Oh, ok. I thought that was just what the wage range was, or union wages, or something like that. Thanks for clarifying!
I do ICU and I could use $10,000! :) I don't like really large facilities though. And I love the ocean, but can't afford to live there.
If looking for jobs in WA State I like to use this site for my hospital links:

Hope this helps.
How do I find jobs for new grads? I am in VA and moving to seattle in Jan 2007, the ads say to apply now but where? Are any of the hospitals doing sign-on bonus or tuition assistance/retention? Help
Coming from the east coast and looking for work in Seattle, I was surprised by how competitive the market is right now. When I spoke to a nurse recruiter at one of the 2 large teaching hospitals, I was surprised when she told me they weren't even hiring anyone for med/surg units!
First, what kind of nursing do you want to do? What kind of hospital? This will narrow your choices. Don't just apply, but be assertive and talk to a real live nurse recruiter. Come out to Seattle and meet people face-to-face (also check out the city).
I did not find any bonuses, moving reimbursement, or tuition assistance available for new grads this spring. There are some perks available if you're an experienced RN. Good luck!

Hi all, I am considering moving to Seattle in the fall, and have been lurking to see which hospital may be best. I was wondering if anyone could give me a general idea of what the pay might be for an RN with about 7 years of experience? Are any of the facilities advertising bonuses right now?
All info will be greatly appreciated!
