Hello!
I am graduating from university with my degree this April, and will be writing my RN exam this June. I am wanting to work in the US after I have become fully licensed.. Any info on how I would go about this?
Thanks so much in advance.

You need to apply to the BON in the state in which you want to work in.If you meet their requirements you will be able to write the NCLEX. If you pass you will be granted a license. You can apply for a TN visa but I think you need to find an employer first.

Hi,
I also am from Ontario and am currently working on getting a licence to work in Florida. After you decide what board you want to apply to you will need to get CGFNS CES report (I am not sure if all boards require this). This report looks at your education and licence info and submits their completed report regarding your credentials to the BON you wish to be licenced with. You will also need livescan fingerprints submitted to the BON. I made the mistake of going to a livescan vendor here in Toronto....turns out they cannot pass your results from Canada to USA so it was a total waste. You can contact the BON you wish to be licenced with and find accepted livescan vendors. Some of them will do out of state prints. I found a vendor who met me while I was at a resort in Orlando on a family vacation! The prints, photo and background stuff is then forwarded to the BON to be added to your application. I completed my application to Florida BON online, and I cant imagine all boards don't offer this option...everything is online now!
Once the BON makes you eligible to sit for NCLEX you register with Pearson Vue and they issue ATT. This is what you need to schedule your exam. From what I understand, the ATT is only valid for a short period of time. For an additional fee you can schedule your exam here in Ontario but I am not sure where yet as I haven't got that far!
Where are you looking to work?
