I think I'm confused as to why you'd register yourself as "failed"??

What she said. I worry about the NCLEX too, but you should change your name to "PASSED!" - those "check all that apply questions" especially worry me... did your school not make you take HESI tests for pharm, ob, peds, psych, and med/surg I and II?

I've done okay on all of them, (not great) - and thought they were a good "barometer" for what the NCLEX will be like, but you don't think so?

Tell me more, please. :)

:angryfire I graduated with honors this may only to spend the time since then working towards passing the nclex. I took the Kaplan review and also did the comprehemsive tests from Lippencott, Moosby and ERI. Do I think any of this prepared me for the nclex...........NO!!! I found many of the questions poorly written especially the one med calc I received. What do you think? It just so happens I passed, although I was sure I failed ( along with many others who have posted on this site ) . In the four years I prepared for this exam I was give 3 computerized tests. Only one of these tests was a simulated Nclex exam ( RNcat) and was given 4 weeks before graduation. It was a piece of cake in comparison to the Nclex I took this week. I didn't even study and I was well above the passing grade. What do you think?

If it didn't prepare you for the NCLEX...how did you pass? Sounds to me that maybe you need to start looking about what is positive about your achievements and look forward to the good things that are going to happen to you throughout your career. If you think that the whole NCLEX thing was a drag and you weren't well prepared...just wait until that first patient of yours decides to go south...quickly! Focus on your achievements...you're going to need them to keep you going sometimes. I also graduated with highest honors, but high test grades in nursing school didn't really prepare me for what I face everyday at work...eyes and ears open certainly did, though! Good luck!

Maybe you can look at your disappointment with NCLEX as an introduction to real world nursing as oppossed to nursing school nursing.

There are going to be many realities ahead of you that nursing school could not have possibly prepared you for. Like the above poster said, keep your eyes and ears open and I might add, keep your mind open too.

It's a whole different world now that you are out of school.

I actually don't know of any nurse who felt they passed NCLEX. We all think that we failed.

We're glad you had persistence. Good job! The NCLEX can be a real bear, no doubt.

And to think: during our last semester we had "real experiences" of caring for four patients. There was nothing "real" about them. No interacting with MDs, no following up on labs, ordering tests and procedures on the computer, no red signing orders, etc.
