I'm looking for information on 2nd degree options/bridge programs for RN-MSN. I have a BS in Health Education. I also have an ADN and currently work as a hospital staff RN. But I have no BSN. I'm just gathering info at this point, as I am undecided on which path I want to take. Either MPH or MSN, but I know that I want to bridge and I want to take classes online. Thanks!

Western Governors University has an online RN-to-MSN bridge program (no BSN necessary). It is regionally and nationally accredited, and the tuition of $3250 per term is more affordable than almost any other MSN bridge program in existence.

I also have non-nursing BS (and MS) degrees, so I decided to go RN-MSN, because the RN-BSN was eight classes and the RN-MSN was only four additional classes. I'm enrolled at Sacred Heart University, an on-line program with tracks in Nursing Education, Clinical Nurse Leader and Patient Care Administration Services. I recently heard from someone that for some acute care positions, the RN-MSN doesn't really help because potential employers are looking for the BSN. So you'll want to be sure you know what you're getting into before you enroll in anything, as you are obviously doing. For me, the classes at Sacred Heart are eight weeks each, about $2K each, and the instructors I've had to this point have been pretty good. I enjoy the flexibility of the on-line format and so it's been a good fit for me. Good luck.
