rn license endorsement

Published

I am licensed in Montana. But my state of residency is Oregon due to requirements i have to apply my nclex somewhere.I have less than 960hrs for the endorsement requirement.I just started my job.

Can i start my application process for the Rn endorsement? does anyone know if i can do anything or any other route? I'm looking into the re-entry or preceptor program but i dont know where to start or where to apply those. I hope i dont have to go back to school just to get license in OR.

hope someone can enlighten me thank you

IF you're already licensed, what does NCLEX have to do with anything? Just apply for an Oregon license by reciprocity based on your Montana license. Also check and make sure that it's legal for you to work in OR without being currently licensed there (dont't know if either is a compact state).

I'm not sure where you are getting that 960 hours from. I am reading the BON website and all I see is you need to have passed NCLEX and pay a fee.

thank you for responding ..Montana is a compact state but not Oregon. Seems like I have to have atleast a minimum of 960hrs requirement to apply endorsement.

Can you copy where you are finding that? Because I am not- and I had a recent grad of our BSN program licensed in OR and our program does not have 960 hours. NO ADN programs would for that matter. I think you are reading some thing wrong.

*I see it now- that is for renewal of an inactive license and it is 960 hours over 5 years!

I graduated from the Philippines year 2008.

Section 4: Nursing Practice- You must meet the requirement in one of the following ways:

1. Completion of your initial nursing program within 5 years from date of application (practice is waived); OR

2. You have at least 960 hours of LPN/RN nursing practice in the 5 years from date of application; OR

3. Graduation from a nurse re-entry program in the last 2 years from date of application. Review and approval of the program

by Board staff is required before a license is issued.

Ahhhh, that explains it. Pro tip: Put all of that info in the original post next time. Your best bet is to CALL the BON and ask.

Ok thank you

Hi nikkitita. Do you have any input on re-entry program? I just recently passed the NCLEX Rn, but they require me for re-entry program prior the issuance of license.

Any help pls would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
