RN graduate abroad challenging the CA LVN

World Registration

Hi I am a Philippine BSN graduate 2007 that passed the NLE that same year. My question is since to be qualified to take the nclex rn here one should study again to meet the rn standards, will I be qualified to take the LVN exam without a paid work experience? I don't want to submit my application for lvn without making sure that I am qualified to take it... I don't want to waste money. And if I am qualified... should the school send the requested TOR and the like.. to me? Or to the boards? I am kinda confused... In the lvn instruction part says pass it together with my application so that means I should have it.. and another says the school should send it to the boards. I hope someone help me clear these things.. and I've heard after they review that application they will ask for the license verification [local] in the philippines.. is there a form for this? Thank u so much. Will appreciate your comments.

So that means since I graduated 2007.. there's a possibility that bvnpt wont honor my clinicals cause its been 7 years since I graduated?

I would suggest contact BVNPT bout this. Like you said you worked as an RN in the Phils. You could use that also for the record of nursing experience form(55-A3). I'm sorry if I can't answer all your questions. Feel free to inbox me if you still have some questions.

I really appreciate all the info u gave me. Thanks. I think I still have one more question. So a relative from the phil will come visit me here in the US can she bring the requested sealed TOR and RLE from the school? Or the school should really snail mail it to me to my US address?

No worries. Yeah I think that's possible but I'm not 100% certain. Btw make sure your school gonna use the school's official envelope(preprinted) but if they're gonna use plain white envelope to send your stuff, they should put like stamp/school stamp at the back part of the envelope(flap part) after closing/sealing it.

Good luck with your application :p

Hi cherrybee! I know it's been a year since you posted this, but I am now in this same situation. I am a grad of Fatima university, RN in the PI, I took the NCLEX-RN exam just last October and failed. Now with the concurrency issues I am geared towards taking the NCLEX-PN. I just don't know where to start. If it's not too much, can you please advice me on what to do re: application to the LVN Board. I am actually confused with the "Nursing Experience" part of the application. I do not have work experience, since I never worked as a nurse. Thank you!

HI crichei23! I'm also 2007 graduate and RN in PI. but my situation is, i have some experienced but having a hard time getting a certification from them. I send already the 55A-A form (Record of nursing Program) to my mom to process it to my school but i want to know do i also need to send them the Nursing experience Form? Thanks you! hope u can response as soon as u can.. again Thank you!:)
