Hi all, I'm helping a family friend to get her license in California. She got her nursing degree in Philippines 2003. She migrated in Quebec Canada and got her Canadian license 2012. She worked in Quebec for 8 years and moved here in California. Which one should she use to get her license in California, license by examination or license by endorsement? We're kinda confused because it says on license by endorse, it's OK if you passed 5 part exam but not the Canadian Comprehensive Exam. Anyone encountered same situation. Any tips or advice? You don't need to reevaluation of your papers for Hawaii BON. Like you have said, there is already a result of your CGFNS eval for TExas. You can just add Hawaii BON as additional recipient of the result. On your application for Hawaii BON, just add your CGFNS ID.

The validation of license/registration is for those who has RN license and it should be completed by PRC.

This is the simplest instruction. Send the record of nursing program to your school and once your school is done. Let them send it to YOU with the other stuff like RLE and TOR in a sealed envelope. Once you got it. Send the VN application, fee,picture, fingerprint, copy of your highschool diploma, record of conviction form plus the sealed envelope from your school to bvnpt.

3-6months for CFgns-ces plus 3-4weeks application processing (HI BON).

Since you're a BSN graduate you can use method 3 for your application. Here's the simplest instruction for your application. Send the record of nursing program to your school and once your school is done. (What you need is the record of nursing program form( I believe they need at least 1500 hours clinical, not really 100 % sure bout this though) and 54 hour pharmacology theory. If your pharma is integrated with other subjects, let your dean explain it in a letter that it was integrated with other subjects.) Let them send it to YOU with the other stuff like RLE and TOR in a sealed envelope. Once you got it. Send the VN application, fee,picture, fingerprint, copy of your highschool diploma, record of conviction form plus the sealed envelope from your school to bvnpt. Regarding your question bout 55A-7, did you read the note that it says Not applicable for applications downloaded from the internet. I'm guessing that you printed out the application packet from the internet.

If you're 100% sure that your clinicals and theory are done concurrently, and you/your school can provide the documentation, I would suggest RN application by examination. If not, you can also try LVN route option. LVN application for IENs takes really really long time before they can process it.

Thanks for your input Soldiernurse. According to her it was prescribed by the doctor on April routinely. The only thing is when it’s time for changing of MAR for the month of May, the company that prints the MARs is not always updated so when the new MARs arrived to their facility, it is always checked to compare for new orders from the previous month MAR. Maybe due to human error, that’s why she missed the said pill. Hoping she can find a better career after the incident.

This is the scenario. A friend in Highchool is working as a Medication assistant in an Assisted Living facility committed a mistake regarding medication administration documentation. It was first week of the month (May 4) when she noticed that one of the routine pill( Vit. B12) of the resident is not on the newly printed MAR(Changing of new MARS). She is giving the Vitamin for 3 days now but not signing the MAR coz it's not in there. So basically she is giving the pill based on his memory. So the Med. Aide transcribed the Vitamin order and signed the previous days(May1,2,3) when it was given. So it appears like a late documentation. Later that day if was found out by her supervisor what she did and talked to her the next day about it. SHe took full responsibility of what happened and gave them her resignation on that day and the supervisor accepted her resignation. My question is that considered medication forgery or medication error(late documentation)?(not sure if it's the right term to use)? Will this affect a job offer if a potential employer calls the previous employer for character reference? What are the informations the previous employer can release for background check or employment reference check? Will this affect his future nursing career since she's pursuing to become an RN someday? Any suggestion or inputs will be much appreciated. BTW, Sorry for some wrong grammar. Thanks

You are aware that Hawaii BON requires IENs to do CGFNS CES. I would suggest contact CGFNS if they could send the CES results of your credentials to HAwaii BON. I believe there is an option on credential evaluation that you can add recipient for the CES results in a certain period of time. You could also ask CGFNS to re-evaluate your credentials and issue official report for Hawaii BON.

No worries. Yeah I think that's possible but I'm not 100% certain. Btw make sure your school gonna use the school's official envelope(preprinted) but if they're gonna use plain white envelope to send your stuff, they should put like stamp/school stamp at the back part of the envelope(flap part) after closing/sealing it. I would suggest contact BVNPT bout this. Like you said you worked as an RN in the Phils. You could use that also for the record of nursing experience form(55-A3). I'm sorry if I can't answer all your questions. Feel free to inbox me if you still have some questions.
