I'm applying for the Generic Full Time RN program for fall 2014 (August). I took my NLN Pax exam already and got an overall score of 143. Curious if this will be goof enough to get in? Can't find any stats since the previous test was the TEAS... Looking forward to hearing back from anyone else that has taken the test already. Thx.
Hey, CONGRATS again to everyone that got accepted into the nursing program!!! As per requested, I'll try to tell you as much as I can remember about the Nursing Orientation. Sorry if it's long.....Considering I had my orientation for the FT Generic Program in 2012, I'm pretty sure a few things have changed. But in orientation they give you the nursing school handbook and make you sign the contract at the end of the handbook. The handbook basically is a guideline telling you everything you need to know about nursing school: program policies (on attendance, uniform, picking sequences, expectations of an mdc nursing student, and etc.). Just the basics. They also give you a list of all the books you'd pretty much need throughout your entire program. Reps from the bookstore came and talked about some stuff that you could find in the bookstore as well. You also got to pick to your classes (that was towards the end of orientation).
If you were to try to pick your classes before orientation day, the classes wouldn't go through bc the faculty has to put in some code to allow you to do so. I know on mdc's website (and some may have even gotten emails) saying that you can start registering for classes, but they highly suggest that you wait until they give you the okay to do so at orientation. So don't be alarmed if you tried to register for classes and it doesn't actually register.
They also checked to make sure you turned in all of your documents. Even if you have already done so, I suggest that you still bring a copy of everything just to be on the safe side. I know a couple of people had problems with mdc saying they were missing documents. Can't remember anything else right now. But hey if you guys have anymore ques, don't hesitate to ask me
...I'll try to help as much as I can.
thank you soo much! THAT WAS SOOO HELPFUL!

God bless!!
Hi everyone and congratulations!
By some miracle I got accepted into the Nursing Bridge (Fulltime Face-to-face) program.
I graduated from MDC's respiratory care program in May 2013.
Is anyone planning to work while going to school?
After months of searching I finally got a job as an RRT. I can feel the stress slowly creeping in already.
