Hello,
I'm interested in becoming an RN but I'm looking for a College that will let me keep my job full-time. I know this is hard but this maybe my only way to do the program financially for me to keep my job.
(I live in the Daytona Beach area)
I have looked into Daytona State College - I know they have evening courses that start at 2pm three days a week - Has anyone done this program and can they tell me how it worked for you?
I know that Seminole Community College has a Evening class but I'm not sure about the hours - Has anyone done this program?
I was also looking into Keiser University RN program - I know Jax and Orlando would be closest for me - do they have Evening Courses and if so what were the hours? I know Keiser Is Pricey. I actually did my A.A. in Health Services Administration so I know from first hand
I don't have the best credit to live off of loans, I don't ever qualify for financial aid b/c according to them I make to much (I wouldn't of ever thought, lol) I am single - not married and have no children so I really don't get alot of options there getting help with FAFSA.
I currently work at a Medical Office doing Billing/Coding / Refferrals / Receptionist duties and I also have had past experience in Medical Records so my medical knowledge is well rounded with experience on the office side. I want to branch out to be a nurse and hopefully one day administrative nurse.
I'm really looking for some advice! Thank you for all who comment!

I worked as RN for many years in Orlando area and can tell you whenever I could hire a Seminole Co Comm College nurse I would jump at it.. They have an excellent program. I have heard wonderful things about the program and they must be true as the quality of ADN nurses is great.. I never knew they had an evening program but I know they are very helpful so call and ask to speak with someone or make an appt. Just as a side note: FL has many very good community colleges for Nursing and there 4 yr colleges are usually top rated... Now hospital and living/working there is debatable.

NewGoalRN - I am moving to Tampa soon and found this information very helpful as a start, so thank you.
I do have a question though - I did not see anything as far as deadlines for the application or when the classes start. I see above you mentioned is starts spring and fall, but I only saw that the evening/weekend program is in fall. Just wondering if you had any additional information.
Thank you again!
oh, and I saw they do not require a test to get in - like the HESI, TEAS, etc. Is this right? Basically the entrance is based off of GPA?
