Hi. I am considering a move to Missouri. I am currently licensed in Iowa and was wondering what the usual "waiting" period is for the endorsement into Missouri as far as getting my license for work. I printed my application tonite so I have that ready to fill out.
Does anyone know? Thanks in advance!

I know MO requies a fingerprint card before they will issue you a license. The fingerprint cards can take 12 weeks or longer. I am a Kansas GN who applied for MO licensure only to find out the 90 days I'm elligible to work in MO as a GN may be in jeapordy b/c of the fingerprint card. Last week I finally decided to transfer everything back to KS and sit for my NCLEX exam there. So, long story short is get your fingerprint card out of the way now and expect a LONG wait!
Thank you very much for that info. I read the application but actually thought that the fingerprint info was for foreign applicants. That is something I am going to have to get right on top of. Wow.
Also interesting that there is no mandatory continuing education requirement. We are right next door to Missouri and such different policies. I am now wondering what the difference in the pay scale is going to be. I am looking in the southern half of Missouri. I work in OB. Will be interesting.

I just read your message regarding endorsing from IA to MO. It is very difficult. I am an LPN with Iowa license and IV certs from AZ. They made me jump through hoops just to get the right information, then I had to test and due practicum for $75 just to get the IV cert on my LPN license. You definitely need to think about the pay here. As a GN the pay is $16.50 , night diff is $2.35/hr. and there is no W/E diff. Since I didn't pass boards for RN they immediately bumped my wage back to $11/hr. I was prepared (sortof) via another student that didn't pass. This has really ticked me off as I moved here from out-of-state and had not been told the whole picture about MO. I really do like living here but had I known the pay and treatment was so crappy I would have stayed away and made $25/hr as an LPN. There is a registry called Intelistaff that seems to be paying pretty well - that's where I'm headed. Good luck.
