I recently got in contact with a nursing school (ASA college) inquired regarding a RN program. i was informed by a counselor that they only offer the BSN being that the RN license is becoming obsolete and will be within the next 2 years. Has any nurses or medical professionals heard about this?

I feel your pain staple1027. I was cursing myself for getting this degree and subsequent license, it's a second career for me as well. I worked 8 months in LTC/SNF and now work Urgent Care. It doesn't pay a ton but it fits my schedule as I transition to my next career. SN/LT can suck, but there are tons of jobs available. One question: can you move? I am constantly getting ads for nursing needs in the flyover states. Perhaps a great opportunity to get that coveted experience.

The ADN will never become obsolete. I was told "some day the requirement for entry level RN will be BSN." That was in 1989. Never happened. Some hospitals require it, most don't. I make the same salary as a BSN nurse.
