Riverside School of Health Careers RN program

Published

Hello everyone!

I am looking for current, past, and even prospective students for Riverside's RN program. I will be applying for the September 2013 professional nursing program. For current or past students, what was your GPA and teas score? Also how was the program, instructors, clinicals? I did attend the last open house in December and I was hoping that a student or recent grad would be there to talk about their experience. I love how the instructors seem to be really supportive and the small campus also appealed to me. To other prospective students what start date are you applying to and do you have any other nursing/healthcare experience? Any advice or other information on the program is greatly appreciated!

They will use the score you give them. I just got off work, and am going to head home but I doubt I will have the letter yet

No letter today

Hello!

I am the person (i think) from your dev. psch class! I passed the second time around! I am hoping to get in! I am so nervous though! I am glad I found this and read about everything:) I did not know that letters went out!

Good Luck!

Thank you! You too! Maybe we will know tomorrow

I hope so! So how do the points work? I have a 4.0 but I applied to ODU and did great on the HESI test but didnt get in so this was my second choice! I have been let down once so I am super nervous!

What did you get on the TEAS? I don't know exactly how it works but I know the main things are your gpa, your test score, and your interview score. Any other thing like the references or the essay play a small part

Yes, I was sad to see we weren't in class together anymore...I was ready to talk your ear off about nursing school! Lol. I'm so happy u passed the TEAS this time! I can understand being nervous, because I was shocked you didn't get into ODU as well but I've heard they are super competitive. I'm hoping we get the letters today.

I didn't know Virginia uses the HESI. I took the TEAS at RCC and it's good for three years, and I got in RCC for Fall 2013. BUT, I was a hairs breadth away from also applying at Riverside before I got my acceptance to RCC, and Riverside said they wouldn't take my TEAS from when I took it at RCC, they wanted me to take their TEAS. :( That was a bummer because it costs more, plus I already had a passing score so who wants to take that brutal test more than they have to?

Anyway, I am following this thread and praying for you guys to get good news!

That's so weird! Did you take a different version? I took mind through Sentara, but they do theirs offsite. Everything was fine for me

Hmmm, I don't know, I think it was TEAS V? I'll have to look at it. It's been three years since I took it. So Riverside accepted your TEAS that you took through Sentara?

Yep! I emailed and asked them first and they just said I would have to get the scores sent to them as well. Maybe three years is too long for then

I got a 70 on the TEAS. Yeah, I took the HESI in Va beach in Feb. It was a lot easier I did not study for it because I didnt know I needed it and scored high. I switched psych classes because I wanted a different teacher :(
