Hello I wanted to start a thread for RCC Nursing Spring 2015!!!!! Anyone that will be applying to the program for spring 2015 lets get together to chat and support each other through this process!!!!! Good Luck everyone!!! Hope to see u guys in class next spring!!!:)

I had 80 pts btw :banghead:

Im an alternate as well

You had 80 points right?

SO how does this work? Are going to have to go through Lotto?

Or did they already do the lotto and we became alternates?

I had 80 pts btw :banghead:

Maybe the cut off was 85 points and we became alternates through the lotto. I was told that some people make it in with only 65- 70 points through lotto. Idk. If anyone's reading this thread and was an alternate that got in please share your experience with us. Thanks.

Well congrats to everyone who officially got in. I will see you at intake. Does anyone know what the chances of getting in as an alternate? I have to wait to get my stuff done like vaccine, background, fees right until I find out if I officially get accepted right?

For the alternates.. I said something earlier about intake day.. if you read that.. disregard what I said!!! I was confusing intake day with the 1st day of school!! My intake day was June 26th. I was already accepted, so I didn't have to stress about it. I do know that alternates were told if they were accepted all the way up to about 1 week before class started on August 25th due to some people declining their spots. So GO TO INTAKE DAY if you are an alternate!!!

Who else got in.

I didn't get in... Congrats to those who did.... both acceptance and alternates. I'll be trying again in January.

I just thought I'd give the alternates some insight. For my class, which was Fall 14, no one was accepted on intake day.. everyone showed up. With that said, several alternates DID make it in, but they were informed of their acceptance before the actual intake day. I was told that there are always people who get accepted, but they decline the acceptance because they get accepted somewhere else. I know of a few that were told within a few weeks of the acceptance/alternate letters going out, and I know of a couple who were told about a week before intake day. DON'T take that to mean that you shouldn't go to intake day if you haven't been told before then, but just be aware that come intake day, the class is probably full. But anything is possible, so I would still show up. If history is any indicator, there will be several students who do not accept their spot, and several alternates should make it in.

Thank you so much for sharing. The points this time around must have been very high.

I am so sorry please keep trying.

In all honesty, I think they take other things into consideration. I definitely didn't have more than 80 points but I had between 70-75 at most. I did however complete all GE's with mostly A's and some B's since I finished by BA last year. If I read correctly, they did say there is a significant higher chance of admittance if GE's were completed.

Regardless, I thank all of you for your input throughout these months. I wasn't much of a poster but I did manage to read everyone of your posts to keep me going and I thank you for that indirect support! As far as alternates are concerned, I did skip through the previous semester's thread for RCC and many people have gotten in so its a very high possibility. You guys came way too far and I know that everything will pay off!
