Hello I wanted to start a thread for RCC Nursing Spring 2015!!!!! Anyone that will be applying to the program for spring 2015 lets get together to chat and support each other through this process!!!!! Good Luck everyone!!! Hope to see u guys in class next spring!!!:)
Queen no tears you passed that's a good thing!! You still have 75 points so you have a good shot at getting in, even if you make the alternate list. I think I scored 69 on that damn test and it put me at 70 points last Spring (almost had 75 points... grrrr). I spent the last year taking over some general ed classes and getting my CNA license. So don't worry there are always options!!
I know Mindy I am an older student and I need to finish so I can get back to work. I don't want to wait another year to start. My GPA was good I have my LVN already, The only thing I could do is take a spanish course for 5 extra points.
I hear ya. I'm older myself. I feel like I've been in school forever. I was so bummed out last year I wanted to give up, but it worked out better for me. I had an extra year to save up. I think you'll get in just keep praying if it's meant to be it will happen. At least they don't look at your grade for a language course you just have to pass it. I took Spanish and it was a lot of work and memorization, but it wasn't to hard.
It sucks that the teas test is worth so many points. A lot rides on that score. However, a lot of the information are things we've learned years ago. It's hard to cram that much info into a few months, especially with other life circumstances. I think I could have done better on the test, but I was so nervous because my getting into the program depended on it. My nerves totally messed with my head.
I was nervous as well like so many others there. You know the funny thing is that I scored almost 80 percent on the science. On the practice test I only scored in the 50's. RCC has an awsome program. I was in the nursing 18 class for LVNs I droped when I found out they only had 10 spots and over 50 qulified applicants. The proferssors( I can't say their names) were so knowlagable and nice. I knew then that I did not want to go anywhere else to get my RN trainning. I live about 15 mins form the school as well. LA trade tech is an option, but God I do not want to drive to LA. I am shocked because eventhough I did not know my score I thought I did better. What's meant by adjusted score? According to my score I should have scored higer. Well it's over I just have to wait.
Hello everyone! For *some* reason, I thought that we would be notified of acceptance by end of NOVEMBER, so now this wait will feel slightly more torturous. Oh well! I just wanted to introduce myself since we will all hopefully be in the same cohort (fingers crossed)! December simply can not come fast enough! Good luck to all of you!

Welcome Anne how may points do you have? If you have over 80 points you should get accepted. Some of us with 75 points will hae to wait and see what the cutoff is. Good luck to you as well.
Hmm...I think the adjusted score is after they've taken out the percent of questions not counted. But I'm not sure. I've never heard of LA trade. Is it a private school? Your lucky you live by the school. I live in Yucaipa about a half hour or so away. Hi Anne how many points do you have? Did you take the teas this week?
Mindy it's a community college that is downtown LA. According to my teas score the program avrage this time was 64.9 percent. I ranked 53. So that means 53 people did about the same or worse than I did. Did you apply at valley as well? My score was adjusted down. I don't feel so bad now LoL...
No, I didn't apply for Valley only RCC. I took most of my pre reqs at Valley and planned to apply there. However, since they started going by a point system it's been very hard to get into their program. They have to take most students from their previous wait list. So only a small amount of students not on the wait list are getting accepted. I know students who've had 90 points and did not get in. Crazy!! Plus you have to take the HESI exam. I hear the HESI is easier then the TEAS, but since they are only allowing like ten students in for each application period I decided it wasn't worth the stress you know?
