Riverside Community College Nursing Spring 2014

Published

Hello everyone. I just wanted to start the thread for all the new applicants of RCC's Nursing Program for Spring 2014. This thread is to help each other stay current with old and new information about the program. Share your thoughts about the application process, teas V preparation, acceptance, and support group. Let the applications begin!!

Do you know the assigned reading for the kaiser group? I only saw a few teachers reading assignments I tried to email but haven't gotten a reply yet[/quote']

Everyone gets the same reading material. You need to see what cohort your in (either A or B) and go off that reading schedule. Your clinical instructors don't have anything to do with seminar.

My friend and I are at kaiser and everyone has the same reading the first two weeks so I'm going off that.

When can we pick up our ATI bundle?

Also, what's the reading schedule for Cohort B? Its confusing, since under each seminar it explains the other cohort having the same seminar the next day (vice versa). So is the reading the same for both? Since it'll essentially be the same seminar?

Yes it's the same for both. Only difference is that cohort A and cohort B don't have the seminar the same day.

I think we're supposed to get it when we start.

Okay! Thanks!

Ohh, thank you so much!

Did anyone buy the Maternal Child nursing (4th) ed book? its sooooo expensive and there's only 1 chapter required to be read from it, and I don't find it justifiable to buy yet :/

I bought it on amazon from a seller for $72. I didn't think it was that bad.

Specializes in L&D, NICU.

Supply bags are now available

Don't worry if you guys don't get the reading done before class starts, a lot of the reading is repetitive from book to book, I tried to get all the reading done but I couldn't, most important thing is to make sure that you have your passports for entry done before you have seminar. The passports for entry are listed on the KSA's for that respective week. I know it's a lot guys but you can do it, pace yourselves. The instructors are really good about getting you all the content they will be testing you on in their seminars. Good luck :) you got this!
