Riverside Community College Fall 2015 RN

Anyone applying for RCC's Fall 2015 Nursing program?

Thought I'd start a thread to communicate about applying, TEAS, etc.

Welcome To: Riverside Community College School of Nursing Healthcare Background Checks if you click that, click start your background check. It's $97 dollars and it includes the drug test. When they process it they will send you an email telling you where to go for your drug test.

Thank you so much!!

Does anyone know what the YES or NO dtand for on the last page of the immunization/physical paper stand for?

I'm pretty sure it's yes you pass?

Thats what I assumed but my doctor was a little confused lol. I go back monday to get my titer results

It's a good thing u started! I got my titers today & found out I wasn't immune for MMR so I need 2 of those & they need to be 30 days apart lol

So anyone who hasn't started... Try to now! Haha

@mrspz.. I have to wait 30 days to do my titer for hepb because I found my shot records after already getting my first hep b dose, what a mess! Also, they told me you must get TB test injection before MMR vaccine (I'm not sure exactly why, prob interacts with TV injection/result). I get my second TB Tuesday and and when my titers come back for negative for MMR I am cleared to get MMR vaccine that day. But a heads up for you!

Aww that's a bummer!

I am in the same boat as you kinda.. I'll get my second TB on Tuesday as well as the first MMR & yeah the nurse at RCC told me it can have interaction with the first TB so that's why I need to get it either after the 2nd one or the same day

Hi All!!

Thanks everyone for all of the useful information! I'm just reading the email from RCC and it says you can't start school unless you have the 2nd hep B shot. Is this the 1st shot after the titer? Looking at the timeline for shots, it's says the 2nd one is given 5 months out. I'm trying to get all my ducks in a row. I took a week off work so I can focus on getting everything done. I started my backgrounds and still have to do the drug test. Does anyone one know if the drug screen has to be completed prior to receiving your background results?

You might not even need the hep b shot all it depends if you have immunity for it.. After I got my titers back I still showed immunity so I didn't need to receive it. Once you take your personal records to your healthcare provider or RCC, you'll have a better understanding of what you need (it might not even really be much)

Not 100% sure about your question about the drug screening but I would say yes because it's included on your background check so maybe you do have to have it done for the bc to be completed

Once we finish everything how do we know if we will be eligible for priority registration? Do we tell them we're done or will they tell us on their own?

On the other semester forums it looked like it just showed up on their date, but a lot of them emailed S.P. To let them know they were done.

From reading through prior forums it seems as though you have to receive clearance from SP. You email that everything is complete and I think he will let yuk know in the email if you have been cleared and ok for priority registration. I'm sure they will discuss all of this in detail at intake! So exciting :D
