Anyone applying for RCC's Fall 2015 Nursing program?

Thought I'd start a thread to communicate about applying, TEAS, etc.

Does anyone know what happens at intake? @Luna did you ask anything about the number of applicants for the fall? I think I will make an appointment in the next couple of weeks to make sure all of my points are accounted for :coldfeet: The last week of school is the week of June 8th so I'm thinking the notices will be out by the 12th...fingers crossed!

From what I've heard intake day is where they give us tons of information like what books to buy and they let us try on/ order uniforms. He said there were about 450 applicants for the fall

Hey everyone! I also applied for the coming up semester. My points are pretty good so I am keeping my fingers crossed but still nervous of course as I'm sure many of you understand. Probably will be until we get those emails. haha Was just wondering about those who said they made an appointment to confirm their scores. Was it easy to get that appointment? I just don't want to feel like I'm hassling them in anyway. haha I feel okay with the process but of course having that reassurance would feel better.

Hello Jessken13! Good luck to you! Yes, it's easy to request an appointment. Just call the SON or email one of the education advisers. They will set up an appointment with you. I'm sure lots of people hassle them during this time so they're used to it! It's better to ask too many questions than to sit and wonder because you didn't ask enough. Let us know how it goes!

@queenwandaful, if you don't mind me asking, what systems did your first semester cover? I'm an LVN as well and I'd like to review over the summer. Thank you, Cammy

First semester covers no systems. It is your fundamentals only mixed with pharmacology, dosage, fluid and electrolyte acid base balance, Antepartum nursing care and skills. Having your LVN will give you an advantage.

Thank you, What days/hours are the classes? I am the single support of two kids, one with special needs, so not working is not an option. I'm 45 and I've pretty much used up my lifetime limit for pell grants on lvn school and prerequisites. I need to start planning now for the days and hours I'll have for work.

Really cool article in the press enterprise about RCC I'll attach the link for all interested :

RIVERSIDE: Shot in the arm for nurses - Press Enterprise

Thank you for attaching that! My dad actually sent me that this morning :) I wonder if it's after this fall they will start accepting 10 more students or what?

I k ow right lol dad's are so adorable. I heard 160 and I heard 100 but I wasn't 100 percent sure but if they have only 400 applicants this term then that's really good if they accept that many wow! I was reading some of the posts and someone stated there was only 400 applicants, I hope so then we will all get in 😄😄😄😄

Hey! So the article was talking about how many students are enrolled at one time :) they let in around 80 per semester but over all there's around 350 students in the program since you have 80 getting in 2x a year and it's a 2 year program :) how awesome would it be though if 400 got in!
