Riverside City College: Spring 2017

Greetings all future RN students. I just wanted to start a thread for any potential applicants who will be applying to riverside city college RN program this September for Spring 2017. Let's all get together on this thread and share experiences as well as answer questions. I know the application period is 6 months away, but it will be here before you know it! :yes:

For those trying to get into nrn 18 for the bridge program :

The bridge program is changing its admission policy starting with fall. You will be given priority based on your score for the advanced placement test. It's not a super easy test either. Plus nrn 18 has a lot of homework. So just be prepared for it.

I believe sciences must be complete prior to applying. General eds can be in progress. Call SON to verify. The point system is changing and I'm not sure if that still applies.

Hey, since I'm taking my last pre-reqs which includes micro, does it have an effect on me getting into the Fall 2017 nursing program? The application period is between January to February.

If your taking micro in spring you won't be able to get in till next spring

Hi guys, like a few people here, I applied to more than one program, and I'm so happy that I got accepted to RCC. I was also accepted to Mt. Sac. They're both great programs and I need to make a decision. If you had to chose between the two, and distance wasn't a factor, which would you chose? I started another thread, but didn't get any replies. I apologize if this is off topic here.

What kind of stethoscope were you required to purchase for the program?

which ever one starts sooner and ends quicker I suppose.

Thanks, RCC starts Feb 13 and Mt. Sac starts Feb 22.

Choose mt sac maybe I can get of the alternate list... I applied to 3 other schools and I only got on the alternate list at rcc.. next semester the point change and it evens the field more for people that are not in they field already

I'd go to the one that was closest to me I don't like dealing with a lot of traffic and such... you would have a foot in the door for la hospitals which pay more than riverside hospitals

RCC is closer, but the schedule is pretty much Mon-Fri and Mt.Sac is Mon-Wed with a 3hr class on Thurs, but only in the 1st and last semesters, so fewer commuting days. Thanks
