Hi,
Thanks for replying to my post. I was wondering how ccconline classes were. I've got to take A&P through either rio or ccconline. I have heard that Rio is pretty intense. Don't get me wrong, I am not afraid of a challenge but I don't want to be overwelmed either. Is the A&P very intense through ccconline. Would you reccomend it?
Thanks

Well, let's just say it's no walk in the park! You're basically teaching yourself with an online class and A&P isn't exactly something that clicks the first time you read it. The tests are all open book and they are extremely difficult. You wouldn't think so, but boy are they ever!!! The labs are all online too, of course, and they're very interesting. The two instructors I've had are always available by email or by phone. All & all I'm very pleased with CCD.

Thanks for the info. I bet the tests are very hard. Just because it is an open book test doesn't make it easier. I am leaning towards Rio due to more frequent course starts. They have one that starts 11/03 and that means I could be done with I and II by June, so I won't be too bogged down when clinicals roll around.
Thanks again

I took A&P I and II online through Rio Salado last year. I would highly recommend it. I got A's in both classes...NOT because it was "easy" - it wasn't! - but because I studied my A$$ off!! I learned A LOT in those courses. Of course, I did read EVERY single page of Marieb (5th ed.) - the text that is used.
If my memory serves me right, I think there were only 2 tests. They were both proctored. Along the way we had to write short essays (less than a page usually) on questions that were posed about whatever system we were studying at the time. These were only 10 point (??) assignments, so the grades were basically based on the proctored midterm and final exams.
If I had to do it all over again, I would choose to take the online Rio courses again.
Good Luck!
Hey guys, a fellow Deaconess student here. I did the A&P I and II through Rio Salado. They were tough, as I'm sure any A&P courses are. The one drawback for me was that the exams are proctored. I had to go to a community college on the exact day of the exam (no flexibility on that) and also had to pay $25 for each exam to be administered (that fee is from the cc, not rio).
I also chose Rio because of the frequent start dates for classes.

Has anyone completed online A&P from either Rio Salado or Colorado Community College ? I need to take an online A&P and my choices are from these colleges. Does anyone have experience with these colleges?
Thanks
