Rio Hondo Spring 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello, my name is Jennifer and I am interested in applying to rio hondo for spring 2018 and so I was wondering if anyone else might be applying there as well? I am planning on taking the TEAS exam really soon and hopefully we can help each other and answer any questions that each one of us might have and we could answer them on this page.

It's this week guys! I literally can't wait anymore I'm so anxious lol

I was told this week... if anything probably will be hearing something Friday at the latest.

I was told that LVN selections were made and were going out this week and ADN applications were still in the selection process and wouldn't be complete until probably the end of the week. My assumption is that we won't be finding out this week.

Darn... ok guess we have to wait another week :(

does anyone know how selective this school is? they have a multicriteria list but no points :?

i also applied to cypress and santa ana, but their point system is insane. i only have like 41 points for santa ana lol

I went to the information meeting a while ago and all I could remember is that your gpa in science is the most points. you could earn a possible of 25 and the other areas such as low income/life experience/need to work etc were 1 point.

Someone in the previous semester said that Rio Hondo puts a lot of emphasis on your science grades. They don't even look at your cumulative as long as you meet the minimum requirement. If you have a 4.0 in science - you have a high chance of being accepted. A BS/BA degree + 4.0 science - practically 100% guaranteed acceptance.

Yikes, I ain't got no BS degree and I only have a 3.67 science GPA. RIP :blackeye:

Does anyone remember if chemistry was part of the science for gpa?? Or is it just anatomy, physiology, and microbio??

Hi Alyssa,

Usually schools calculate Micro, Physio and Anatomy for your cumulative science GPA.

Hi :) I too am waiting to hear from the Rio Hondo ADN program. So far I am a candidate for the Mt. Sac nursing program and have been invited to take the NLNPAX at Santa Monica college; but have decided to deny the invite due to the 2hr commute and upon receiving word of my candidacy at Mt. Sac (a closer commute).

Rio Hondo Acceptance Letter!!!:::

I just called Rio Hondo's Health Science Department. The secretary said letters of Acceptance were sent out today, via U.S mail! (I would still check your email). Letters will be emailed or sent U.S mail tomorrow/Monday to Students who have not been accepted into the program. She wasn't sure.

Good Luck to everyone! :)

THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLING ME!!!!!!! Has anyone received an email or heard anything??
