I thought I would start a discussion regarding those of us who are awaiting acceptance letters from Rio Hondo. The waiting period of finding out if we are accepted can be very stressful. Who has applied for this upcoming semester?

Yikes! I haven't gotten anything yet! Did it come via mail? When did you receive it? Thanks for the info!

They sent them out last week I believe I'm not too sure, but I received mines two days ago via mail :) It basically says that we got provisional acceptance, and that we have to attend an orientation in order to keep our spot or they will give it to the next eligible applicant.

I received my letter on Monday, March 28th. The letter was created on March 25th and postmarked the same day. It says Congratulations and that I have been provisionally accepted for Fall 2016. It states that we have to notify the department by a certain date and that I will be attending the mandatory advisement meeting to cover the remaining requirements for my acceptance. It also has the dates they plan on administering the teas test and information on how to submit your teas score if you already passed the test.

Now for the million dollar question what do they mean by provisional acceptance? Are you an alternate or are you fully accepted pending teas score, backgrounds, and medical evaluation?

I noticed on the Rio nursing website that there changing the nursing curriculum to 4 semesters instead of 5 which includes the summer session does anybody know if this will take effect for Fall 2016?

Congratulation on being accepted to nursing program at Rio Hondo. On Mar 23, I received a letter that I have been accepted to ADN as alternative. I guess it means I am on a wait list (now what 🤔.) I will be going to advisement meeting on Apr. 21 and will have teas test next week. I hope I will be accepted before Fall 2016.

Congratulation again to those whom have been accceped to the program. See all of you if you will be attending the meeting on This Thursday.

Hi, Hope your RN program is going well.

I know you posted this a long time ago but I wanted to see if you can tell me anything about the 5 to 4 semester change. Do you know if that has gone into effect? Also, did you take ADN 151 before you started the full program?

I got accepted into Rio Hondo ADN for Spring 2017 and I'm not sure how I feel about having to wait an entire semester to start the program.
