Hey guys! I just wanted to start a thread for Rio Hondo ADN Summer 2022 Applicants! I got an email last week saying we should hear back about mid March! Crossing my fingers for us all!
Yeah, I think we really need that medical experience to be more competitive, but I just hate the fact that they encourage students to apply without experience when they already know that they have no chance to make it. They should make experience as “requirement” so they don’t get others people hopes up ?
Honestly, I think this semester might've been just extremely competitive + they lowered the # of accepted students to like 25-30 last semester because of reduced clinical sites. Last semester they had over 500 people apply. I thought I had an okay shot of getting in with my stats because were similar pretty similar to accepted students in the past. Boy, was I humbled. Haha.
If anyone else feels comfortable sharing, too! Here are my stats:
*4.0 sGPA
*3.5 overall GPA
*associates (I think the majority of accepted people have their bachelor)
*phlebotomy license
*85% TEAS
*above 200 hours of healthcare experience as a caretaker at an assisted living facility (maybe they're picky on the experience or what kind of healthcare work they want?)
*all general education finished
Also, I applied to Mt Sac and Los Angeles County College of Allied Health and Nursing. Mt Sac has me on their phase 2 set of applications and the latter has not finished phase 1.
You do. I focused on the math and science portion and did not worry about the English part of it. My score on the math and science was in the high 80s. My English score was a 52! I still don’t get why it was so low. I wasn’t even worried about it. ??♀️ Next year I’ll make sure I get a higher score. My science GPA is 4.0 and my overall is 3.7. Hopefully next time around. I will apply to private schools next time too. I didn’t do that this year. Even if they are expensive, it’s better than waiting around.
Hi everyone, here are my stats and didn't get a call either ?
*3.0 science GPA
*3.8 non science GPA
*Associates
*>10 years as MA
*85.3% TEAS
*2nd language
*5 life experiences if all were counted
*all general education finished
I also applied to MiraCosta, Palomar, Grossmont, City College of SF, College of the Canyons, Santa Ana and will be applying to San Diego City College and Golden West.
