I was just wondering if anyone has any information about the Critical Care Internships offered for new grads at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children's?
First priority is given to students who work there, do any external applicants ever get accepted?
Do they really wait until May to make decisions?
Anyone take part?
Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Quick question to anyone who has applied, or is applying to this program,
The application asks to include a "list of references" then goes on to say, "Two references from clinical instructors". Does anyone know if they want just a list of reference contact info, or actual letters of recommendation? With a program this competitive, I feel like any mistake I make on the application process will get me automatically tossed into the "no" pile, which I would definitely like to avoid.
I called HR to ask, and left a message, but nobody has gotten back to me yet.
Good luck everyone! And thanks in advance for any information.
You need two letters of recommendation from professors/clinical instructors and a letter of recommendation from your clinical/department manager. It would be nice if you could get the two letters from clinical areas that are really relevant to the unit your trying to work on if that is possible or from clinical professors who are in the same area of specialty of interest. In my case I am trying to apply for the Pediatric ER where I work now so I am getting clinical letters of recommendation from my Maternity Professor (a NICU Nurse Practitioner) and from my Psych. Professor (a Peds. Psych. Clinical Nurse Specialist) both of which are positions that I am really interested in and might ultimately want to pursue.

13% unemployment rate won't scare the U of M BSN student. I just moved from Michigan to Connecticut. Michigan peaked at over 15%. At least we lead the nation in something!
Yikes that is awful. Not trying to scare anyone.... I am actually the one who is terrified of not getting a job, after all of this work.
I applied to the PICU, then to the ED, then to the PACU. I'd love to recover patients, I think that'd be awesome- but my heart lies with the kiddos, pediatrics is where its at! I had the most difficult time chosing my top three. What areas did you choose?
I freaked out a bit the other day because I got a letter in the mail from them, so I though I got rejected already but it turns out it was just a letter from Andrea Mansmann saying she is reviewin my application! *PHEW!*
