How do you guys reward caregivers for a job well done? I can think of gift cards, a potluck, and a staff recognition night.

I have found that hand written notes, candy, gum, pens, stickies, penlights, and a little public recognition can go a long way. Sometimes if we have a really crazy day, I'll jut have pizza and wings delivered to the floor- I pay out my own pocket. I've done that twice in six months.

I speak to them in a voice loud enough for everyone to hear. I bring it up at morning meeting so all the department heads know, and if it's really something great, they get the pom poms....silly marching around shaking pom poms while whooping it up. The staff love it and the residents like to see happy staff.
