Hi! I've been looking at this Resume Help thread. I see a lot of people are including their clinical rotation sites on their resume. I chose to omit that from my resume and only include experience I have working as a LPN. I live in NY, my only experience is in LTC facilities. My clinicals were done in hospitals. Is it best to include them in my resume? I don't think I will have space to include both LPN work experience as well as hospitals for clinical. I am submitting my resume down below. Can you please look it over and criticize it for me?
**I am trying to get a position in a hospital. I do not want to work in a LTC facility. Please let me know if it stands out. If there is anything I should omit or add, please let me know. Any help and criticism will be greatly appreciated. If theres any nurse managers out there, would you hire me for a RN hospital position with my current resume? Thank you very much.

~Thank you all in advance. This site is such a great help, you have no idea! :)

In today's world, you no longer need to include proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. I would also remove the Objective. It's also another piece of unnecessary fluff on a resume. Keep it short and to the point.
Instead of a job history focus, maybe you should write a functional resume? That focuses more on skills. That way, you can include your clinical experience. I did a functional resume for the nursing position I applied for because nursing was a career change for me. I had 17 years experience in my previous field, but no health care experience (other than being a CNA over 20 years ago).
If you search for examples of functional resumes, it'll give you an idea of how it should look. Definitely keep it to one page!

Have also read that the objective and references avail upon request statements are unnecessary. For the PN education, write the certificate, don't refer to the high school. I put my education last and put the work experience section toward the top of resume. In your case, I would probably place it after core competencies. Also, your bullets for the job skills are confusing. Indent them from the job listing, or highlight the job listing. Do something to differentiate them. To keep it to one page, you might consider trimming down the core competencies listing. There seems to be too many.
Thanks for the feedback! :) Yeah I removed the proficiency in word..etc. I removed the core competencies part. I kept the objective.. I included in the objective that I do have nursing care experience as a LPN. I did google the functional resume..It was helpful, thank you! My resume fits on 1 page now.. And I think its pretty good. I had a friend who is in the nursing profession look at it. He said its great. Thanks again!
Yeah I removed the references available upon request part. I did keep the objective though. I utilized it to showcase that although I am looking for a RN position and have no RN experience , I do have LPN experience. Of course its worded differently. Yeah I wrote certificate for my LPN education. I did put the work experience before the education part.
Yeah my resume doesn't look like the one I posted here. The resume I have is much more neater and I used a resume template. It looks weird on here b/c the formatting got messed up when I posted here.
