returning to nursing

I have a BSN and have experience in several areas of nursing. I have taken several years off to raise a family and would now like to return, preferably NOT hospital nursing. Are there any refresher courses available in Upstate NY or any other paths I could look into?

There is a NY State Forum at: https://allnurses.com/forums/f164/ ; if you browse through the Forum, maybe you can get some ideas on where to find refresher courses. Have you tried local Community Colleges?

I have inquired at both community colleges and 4 year institutions. Neither offers anything. I have also called the local hospitals and they do not offer a refresher course. One does offer courses for life long learning ,but there is a substantial cost involved. Do you know if there are any reputable online programs?

my state nurses association has a listing of refresher programs.

so check the ny nurses assoc website?
