retaking test with new last name

Hi there! I took nclex before then failed so now I am going to retake it. I need to ask if it is ok that my name in my ATT was my maiden name and my form of identification shows my new last name. thanks!

id needs to be the same

this is what is stated on the ncsbn website

name

the printed name on a candidate's identification must match exactly the printed name on their authorization to test (att). if the name with which a candidate registered is different from the name on their identification, the candidate must bring legal name change documentation to the test center on the day of the test. the only acceptable forms of legal documentation are: marriage license, divorce decree and/or court action legal name change documents. all documents must be in english and must be original documents. candidates wishing to make a legal name change, address change or e-mail address change must contact their board of nursing. this cannot be done at the test center.

You have to take in a marriage license, divorce document, or other court issued legal name change doc to back up the name change.

Since the fee for the nclex is "non-refundable", don't leave things to chance. It takes only a few minutes to take your marriage/divorce papers to the social security office to get a printout with your new name. Then take that to your local DMV and get a new id printed. According to Pearson Vue/NCSBON, all identifiers have to match "exactly," or you will not be accepted. Trust me, there is no gray area. My friend went in the day after her birthday with an expired license. They turned her around; but the ladies were very nice...as they gave her 30 minutes to come up with a solution. She had to run down the street to find internet access, pay online to renew her license, and bring the print out back. She made it just in the nick of time. She got lucky; but all of that was just unnecessary added stress because she was not properly prepared. So, go and get your new id made before you go to the testing site.

if you check out the link i posted on acceptable id it will state what is acceptable and military id is ok however this is what is also stated regarding name being different the only acceptable forms of legal documentation are: marriage license, divorce decree and/or court action legal name change documents.
