Hello all! I have a question about my prerequisites. About 8 years ago when I took my prerequisites such as Eng. 102 and Hist. 101 I received Cs in them. Since I am at a community college now I was wondering if it would make sense for me to retake those courses and recieve better grades since I am more serious about my education and need to boost my 2.0 GPA?

You need to look at the school's credit transfer policy. Most schools have a 5 yr limit on credits, so it may be a moot point because you may have to repeat those credits anyway.

It's only the sciences and math classes that expire, so I would retake those English classes if your program is competitive and factors in English classes. My school only looks at English 101 for factor points, and doesn't look at overall GPA until there are multiple tie breakers. Probably a good idea to sit down with your nursing program advisor.

Retake them but also keep in mind that some highly competitive programs also track #of attempts and can accept another applicant over you with same GPA/one attempt. Best of luck!
