I unfortunately and devastatingly have to retake the Nclex-RN. Can anyone that has taken the Nclex rn recently (in the last 6 months) give me advice on what program to use to be prepared? Especially if you had to retake it, what helped you pass? I already took Kaplan but it didn't seem to help me as much as I thought it would. I need help with both content, critical thinking and strategy. I Used several content review books but they didn't include most of the topics I was asked on the test. Please let me know if you used hurst or ncsbn and if it helped. Also, if you tried something else and it prepared you.bI'll take and appreciate any advice. I'm ready to be a nurse so I need to be fully prepared for this next attempt.
thank you so much!!!!

I took hurst and failed at 265. I retake it again in a few weeks. I did hurst and I felt like it didnt help me prepare for the test at all. I have done the NCSBN and loved it. I wish I would have done it before. Right now im doing lots of questions out of PDA book by LaCharity, and saunders online CD rom. I can't tell you if it helped me or not yet. But, I feel alot more prepared then I did before with only doing hurst. Hope this helps.

Closest questions on the nclex are those from NCSBN. Am retakinging in 2wks....am not using many review books. Just ncsbn, using Saunders review bk and flash cards and also la charity. Am Davis review specifically for SATA and alternate format. We'll see what happens.

Hurst & NCSBN-Learning-ext works great together.
