Resurrection University Fall 2014

U.S.A. Illinois

Hello all and Happy New Year!

I'm starting this thread so that all my fellow applicants for Resu Fall 2014 can have a place to come and ask any and every question that may come to mind. I know I am a tad bit (ok a lot of bit lol) early since the app deadline isn't until April 1st. However, it would be great to hear from all of you as we start this app process.

Where are you taking your prerequisites now? Are you applying to any other BSN programs? Is there anything you are worried/nervous about as far as applying goes?

Congratulations!

does anyone know when we should be expecting a response?

Hi All, I am a current ResU student, I began in January in the Daytime BSN program. I am happy to answer your questions about the program (I don't know much about admissions so those questions should be directed to the admissions office).

As you may or may not know yet, you are required to have all white shoes for clinical rotations. Unfortunately the first pair of shoes I tried didn't work for me, but I am reselling them if any of you are interested and the same size:

Dansko Clogs- Patent White Size 40 Barely Used

Dansko's are great shoes- they just didn't work for me.

Feel free to send questions my way!

Hey! How are you liking the program overall? Is it really intense? should I be expecting absolutely no free/down time? lol

One of my classmates put in her app 2 weeks before the deadline and they told her may for a response. I was told on April 1st but I believe it probably bc I completed my app in January.

But yes! How is the program? Is it super intense? How do you like your teachers? Also are the textbooks really expensive? Thank u for being here! :)

I literally turned in my application the week before the deadline and got a response back in under a month. I also have 5 required classes I have yet to finish, 4 to be finished next week and I still need Computers class. Does anyone know if ResU offers scholarships? I plan to attend ResU but Saint Xavier accepted me after a LONG wait and also offered me a nice $15K scholarship to attend.

anywhere is better than resurrection. they won't give you the clinical hours you need--instead you will get busy work. some teacher's may help, others will laugh at you when you do poorly and won't try to help.

has anyone else heard back from ResU?

I heard back a while ago, about 2 months ago. I submitted my app on the deadline and got accepted about 2 months ago with a choice for summer or fall program and even a choice for night or weekend program. Anyone else here attending the evening/weekend program fall? I don't want to hear negative things about the program-just positive :)

Had anyone started their background and drug checks yet? I haven't due to lack of funds and I'm just worried I could possible run out of time.

I did my background check, its free...so is the drug testing I believe. What is not free is all of the vaccinations, physical, etc. I just had all of that done but have to return in a couple weeks for second round of TB and am waiting to hear back on a couple immunity results. The background check and drug test is quick-the vaccinations are not and I would start on those asap. :)
