Hello all and Happy New Year!
I'm starting this thread so that all my fellow applicants for Resu Fall 2014 can have a place to come and ask any and every question that may come to mind. I know I am a tad bit (ok a lot of bit lol) early since the app deadline isn't until April 1st. However, it would be great to hear from all of you as we start this app process.
Where are you taking your prerequisites now? Are you applying to any other BSN programs? Is there anything you are worried/nervous about as far as applying goes?

I have not taken the TEAS yet, I have one more pre req which is MICRO. I took all pre reqs at a CC and plan to visit the campus this month. I want to have everything submited mid February.
Ok that sounds cool. I had everything completed on the 2nd of January and now im just waiting, I took my pre reqs at a CC too along with some tooken at SIUE. Im taking Micro and lifespan this semester.
Sounds good! I think once I have the TEAS completed my mind will be at ease. Are you applying to any other schools?

E/W teachers won't help you. I don't know about daytime--they get answers to tests in the form of "high focused reviews". I hope you also study beyond what the simple class tests try to evaluate. The tests are written by daytime teachers and the night/evening teachers will tell you stories about this or that without regards to the test which they haven't looked at. Good luck with that.
Nobody talks about the ATI tests which are required.
It's a teach-yourself-nursing program. If you complain about any of this, they will treat you like children. If this is your first degree, you may believe them. If you have other degress and know how a real school works, you'll see through their laziness and lack of support. There are a few good teachers. I've heard of them. They are somewhere. They probably teach daytime.
Resu is the only school I'm applying to. I think I don't have all my pre reqs done for the other schools, I applied to saint Xavier a yr ago and was denied

That's kind of Crappy to hear I am applying to the daytime program so maybe there is some differences there. Which semester is this for you?

Hello,
I was accepted to the nursing program for May in the night/eve. program. I already attended one nursing program for Rasmussen and it was awful. Besides having to teach yourself, they failed to layout coursework with deadlines etc. I don't think ResU can be any worse. I took the TEAS twice as the first time I failed to study the whole book because I normally score high in English. However, lesson learned. Once I reviewed the WHOLE book I passed.
Also, let me say I work with a gentleman whose daughter graduated last year from RESU and she passed her NCLEX first time with no problems. So, I am confident that they will at least guide me to be successful. She has given them great reviews, but did inform me that if you think it's a joke and can slack off then of course this is not the program for you!

I'm hoping they have started to go through fall 2014 applicants bc the wait is killing me lol. I have also heard good things about the program and I appreciate the advice you gave. I definitely am not a slacker so all this sounds like good news. :)

Yes, I am very excited to get the show on the road although I know the amount of work is going to alot. I haven't heard anything yet in regards to the 2014 fall applicants yet, but I know our deadline for May start date was Feb. Everyone should know who was accepted into the May start date program by the March. Good LUCK!

I finished my application for fall and turned everything in about a week or two ago. Was told in person that it'll be about two months before I get a decision back.
