Hello,
I am writing this thread to find out if anyone will be trying to attend Resurrection University's Accelerated BSN program in the daytime and/or evening program in Spring 2017. I have read a lot of threads about the daytime program offering more supports and I wanted to get better clarification on that. Currently as I type, I will be completing my Chemistry and A&P II in the spring and summer of 2016. I will taking my TEAS V exam on January 15. As far as acceptance scores are concerned, can anyone who currently or previously attended the institution share what their stats were? I am really nervous, stressed, scared and happy all at the same time lol, however, I hope that all of the efforts I am putting into attending this program will pay off!!
Hi All- I am hoping to start the daytime program in Fall 2017. For those in the daytime program, what does your schedule look like each week. I know clinicals don't start out as heavy the first term. So, could you please give me a sample of your first term in the program versus now maybe? Thank you!!
Hi! I am starting the program this summer. I received my schedule for the first semester so I thought I would share it with you just so you have an idea of what it is like. Classes are anywhere between about 8-4ish each day mon-thurs for the first 8 weeks and clinical 7-3 on fridays. then clinicals will be thursdays and fridays the second 8 weeks and for the rest of the program. each semester is different but counting the hours for the first 8 weeks I will be in class 18 hours per week and then 8 hours on fridays with clinicals. I hope this helps. And not every day is 8-4...that is just the time frame of where i have classes. my longest day consists of 6 hours worth of classes
Hi Bmkeane22,
I am starting the program soon and already received my schedule. They told us for the day program you must keep 7-5 open. This does not necessarily mean you will have classes 10 hours straight, but one class/clinical may begin at 7 and another class may end at 5pm. However, unlike my first degree and college experience, I have been told that all the other hours you are not in class you will have to be studying a ton! A friend of mine worked in retail one day a week and had to quit her job after being in this program after only a few weeks. She told me they suggest the day program students not to work at all. They also have the option for the night program which I also knew someone that did that. This is more set up for people that must work. He worked daily 7am-3pm and then they had classes 6pm-10pm Monday-Friday. Their clinicals were on Saturdays and Sundays. He said it was really hard finding time to study and he lost alot of sleep but he had to work during the program.
I graduated from ResU this past April. As an eve/weekend student, you will have an easier first semester than daytime students. I suggest you supplement your learning early on with Hurst videos and Mark Klimek lectures for better understanding of material. Nursing school will be the most challenging time of your student life. If you are dedicated, you will do well throughout. Congrats!
