Hey everyone,
I'm having trouble making my resume one page. I'm sure there is a lot to fix but I have no idea if I'm going towards the right direction. Would anyone be kind enough to take a look at it for me? I can email it. Thank you in advance.
Ken
P.S. I am a new graduate.

Struggling to fit information on only one page? If you are a new graduate then you should have about a half a page.
You are either embellishing too much or providing irrelevant information. I would recommend a professional resume service. You might find help at the Department of Labor or Unemployment Office in your area or even the school you attended might have resume writing assistance.

Good morning Ken,
I am a new grad as well and my resume was about a page. I actually had a professional career service person look at it and they were able to give me some great feedback. I have not yet seen a half page resume for a New grad but I guess if you don't have alot of work experience then a half page would make sense. One thing you can try to do is to make the page borders smaller. Also I had to make the font smaller, size 11. Don't get too small because then others will have trouble reading it. You may have to cut some wording out to make it fit one page. A good tip to remember when writing resumes is to write enough on your resume to get them interested but not too much so they don't need to bring you in for an interview. Good luck. I hope that helped.

Also keep it to what is pertinent to nursing or health services. I cant tell you how many resumes I get with info going back 10 years when someone was working as a waitress or grocery store. It's not that anything is wrong with any of those jobs but it's not peritinent to Nursing or health care. Keep it specific to what you are applying for with a great cover letter. A great cover letter will grab my attention on potential hires before I look at thier resume. Also as the previous poster stated - professional resume service or local unemployment office, school that may assist you. It is a little expensive if you go to a private company but once you have that initial one you can always tweek it down the road. I paid one time when I first got out of school and from there just added (and that was 30 years ago lol).

Did I forget to mention that these should be FREE to you?
