My resume has become impossible to keep on 1 page despite only having been a nurse for 2 years. I have a non-nursing bachelors, an associate degree in nursing, a BSN, and I am now working on my MSN. I have held 2 previous jobs as a RN and currently hold a third RN position + a faculty position in a BSN program. As part of my faculty role, I am now working on research related to my area and have presented at several conferences which I'd like to include. So I feel like I have crossed into the CV arena, but I'm not sure how to go about making one. Does anyone have a template? How should I order everything (e.g. experience, education, certifications, presentations, awards/honors, etc)? Any guidance would be appreciated.

I cut my A.A. degree off to save space. I was told by a career counselor that the 1-page rule is really not for professional people with lots of accomplishments. I think 2 pages will be fine for you. Nowadays, they don't even look at the resume anyway, it's all about ticking the right boxes on the application so you aren't automatically deleted by a clueless HR person.

You really don't have to keep it on one page anymore, so long as it's relevant. I can't keep mine to one page, even if I try. I have other related healthcare experience, including military health (where my scope of practice was larger than it is now), certifications, etc. that keep it from being one page, even with very concise descriptions and such. Hasn't held me back. The one page rule is outdated, just as the objective rule is.
