Hey everyone! I am taking my NCLEX tomorrow morning at 8AM. I am currently working as a CNA and was at work last night when one of the nurses told me something I wish I didn't hear. I was talking about how I wasn't so much nervous to take the test as I am about getting my results in the mail and being afraid of opening the envelope! She said "Wanna hear a clue?" I was like ok sure. Well she said that when they take the RN boards they get their results back and if you passed it;s addressed your name, RN. Now I am freaking out. I HOPE to goodness that the LVN/LPN board doesn't do this because now if I get an envelope addressed to just me without LVN behind it.....I;ll DIE!
Is there any truth to this? When you get that little envelope is there any clue on the outside???
Ack! LOL! Not what I wanted to hear just a day before the test.

Can't say about California, but when I received my license in Indiana mine didn't say RN after my name.

Good luck with your NCLEX tomorrow! :) Yeah I'm from MA, and when I got my results that I passed and license..there was no RN after my name...I think that RN said that to you to try to scare you or something...I don't know. But good luck tomorrow! I'm sure you will do fine.

Never heard that one. You should be able to check the board of vocational nurses' website to see if a license has been issued before the result arrives in the mail: http://www2.dca.ca.gov/pls/wllpub/wllqryna$lcev2.startup?p_qte_code=VN&p_qte_pgm_code=9110

Augigi,
I don't know if that works in California or not. I have been told that they don't issue a license unless you pay, and you can't pay unless you get your results. Am I correct in this statement? I have been checking online, but many people have told me this so I pretty much gave up on that. I was also told that California doesn't participate in the online results. Maybe I have received wrong information over and over again? :selfbonk:
US RN's with a SSN can definitely verify their license online. Not 100% about the PNs, but I can't imagine why it would be different..? May as well try it and see. Didn't you pay when you sent in your application to the board?
