i just completed trends in nursing over the summer and hopefully grades will be posted today ! it feels good to have exactly 59 days off from school. i go into my last semester of adn this fall.
so i plan to read many novels and books. recently finished gifted hands by dr. ben carson and i'm half-way through chicken soup for the nurse's soul. i'm also working as much as i can as a lpn to continue to build my skills and experience.
some time in the next two weeks i'm going to start doing light reading and note taking of the material i must master for next semester.
two more classes to go. i think, i truly think i may be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I am in the same boat as you. I start my last and final semester in the fall and cannot wait for summer to be over (as sad as that sounds). As for me, I've been working as much as I can at the hospital. I've taken a few extra classes through the hospital system. I've hung out with my 4 year old and I've read a few books as well. Room was a very good book, if you haven't read it. Good luck and here's to hoping the next 59 days will fly by but that you will have time to relax too!
I swear we think alike ! I can't wait for summer to be over with. Fall please come, please ! :)
Thanks for recommending room, I'm going to check it out. Enjoy your summer too with your kiddo !

It's a good idea to get a few NCLEX books and do questions over the summer, that will really help you for your next semester and NCLEX.
I have been doing this everyday too. Just for about an hour or so. I've also been reading the new Saunders NCLEX book from beginning to end.

Thanks, I'm trying to enjoy my summer. I'm really nervous about finding a job (hopefully before) graduation! I am working an hour and a half away and really don't want to move after I'm done. I'm hoping to find work in a local hospital down here. No one else in my class seems all that nervous. They think the offers are going to be knocking down their doors! I know of people from the last December graduation class that JUST got jobs. Scary!
Absolutely !!! I going to do some nclex questions and textbook reading, nothing major, just a few hours a week. Can't wait until the syllabus comes out for the fall. Although I did by the one for summer.

My final exam was the 27th. Im taking a mental break initially. Wish we had more time off. Its not really more than 6 weeks when you factor in the fact that we have exams the first day of school so I will start school work again about mid August. Im getting Bills paid and making a financial plan, attending to personal issues that I can never resolve while in school. Taking care of my kids, their Dental appointment was 3 hours after my final exam. Just made a Dr appointment, etc. Housework, blah, blah, you get the picture.
