I need help. How bad is Nursing Research? Please answer if possible. With my job it will probably never be necessary to get my BSN but I thought it might be a good idea. But from all of the posts I am reading, I am scared to death. When I hear people saying "it's hell" I am almost thinking it's impossible. And this sounds awful but I don't want to do this if it's going to cause severe stress, anxiety, or any other lasting mental issues. Lol!!
This seems to be the class that everyone is talking about and I need people to be honest. For example, if I have a bad group, am I truly responsible for doing it all because I don't think that it fair. How bad are the quizzes? Is it statistic quizzes.
Please answer if possible. I think I'm in a different situation because I'm not forced to do this and I doubt I will ever have to use it.

Nursing research is horrible. Your group will make or break you. You generally have no control over who is in your group. It is worth it to endure this horrific class in order to attain your BSN. In every nursing program, be it anywhere from LPN to DNP, there will be those courses and/or persons who will make you want to take the easy way out and stay at your current educational level. Additional education is well worth it if you ever plan on leaving the floor and making it into a nursing job that only destroys your mind and not your body as well.
Five years ago I thought that I would be working the floor forever. In that time period I have come to realize that my body is breaking down and that I would rather lead the new generation instead of working with them. It is a rough world when you reach your 40s. Your knowledge and skills are strong, but your body is becoming weak. Higher education allows you to contribute your strong attributes to making the nursing world a better place for both the staff and the patients.

It really wasn't that hard. You don't have a choice of what group you are in but you are fine as long as you do your part. I passed with a B and I work 5 days a week 12 hour shifts.

Research is a hard class because you have to read, read the chapters and answer all the questions from the workbok if the book chosen has one. Read, read and you will do fine.
