Hi All,
I have a bit of a dilemma on my hands. I am considering accepting a position in a Level III NICU, and just found out from the staff that I will be required to wear lavender scrubs or all-white scrubs. Lavender I could MAYBE deal with, but all white and even lavender almost makes me want to reconsider. How am I supposed to maintain any dignity while wearing those colors? Any suggestions? Should I approach the manager? Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!
Do you consider the US Navy "girly?Given that their officers are easily identifiable in their head to foot dress whites - including cap, obviously the military has no problem accepting white as masculine attire.
In no way is a Navy man in his dress whites "girly". Sexy maybe, but not girly.
As a 2nd career student with limited health care experience, I've always held a slightly different perception of men in white. If I see a non-uniformed guy in white pants and shirt, I immediately think of the orderlies in "One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest". Not exactly exemplary professionals, but definitely bad-axx mofos.
