Reporting conviction to BON

Published

Hey everyone!

So i was researching and found out that I do need to report a conviction to my BON within 90 days. That gives me until August 1st. My case manager was going to have me wait until i renew but because i found this info i just want to make sure i do everything im supposed to. Anyone self reported charges NOT during renewal? How did it go? As far as i can tell i just need to submit my final order and a written statement. What have your experiences been like?

@Indiana RN wish I could PM for these random questions but I cant yet so...when you applied at your current job it asks on the app if you've ever been terminated or asked to resign. How did you handle that question lol? And how long did the hiring process take. Ive heard its SLOW so I was going to start putting apps in now to start end of October.

I answered yes and for reasons I put willing to discuss during interview.....I know, terrible! I just wanted to get my foot in the door. I know they usually pull your license before they even call you so I knew they would probably put 2 n 2 together. Lord, interviewing caused such anxiety for me! Yes, it's slow going and you'll get some no's but I promise, you will get a yes eventually!

I can't find anywhere really where it says that a misdemeanor, like a DUI, has to be reported within a certain time after. My DUI will be 2 years in Sept and was waiting to report it until now (renewing my license). Does anyone know if you are required to report it within 90 days? And what happens if you do not?

I believe it depends on what state you are in, and the board requirements. Most are within 90 days from my research. Are you in a monitoring program? If not, that may be a requirement. May want to get advice from an attorney that deals with the board you are working with. They may be able to answer this, and help you.
