Removing PPE Question!

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey everyone! I was taught in nursing school how to remove PPEs. I even have a little card attached to my nursing badge to remind me of the process of removing PPEs. It has always been::

-Remove gloves, Remove Gown, Perform Hand Hygiene, Remove Eye Protection, Remove Mask or N95 Respirator, Perform Hand Hygiene.

This always made sense to me too. However, Uworld is saying

gloves, goggles or face shield, gown, mask or respirator, and hand hygiene.

Like.... how you gonna touch your face without at least washing your hands first. Someone help me

Uworld is correct.

Do not over think the questions.

Welcome to Nclex World.

I follow the CDC order as to how to remove PPE

Thanks guys!! Yea thats what Uworld follows as well. THANKS NURSING SCHOOL

Remove first Gloves, Gown, Goggles, and mask.

Thats not what Uworld says though. That was what I originally stated. Uworld says

gloves, goggles or face shield, gown, mask or respirator, and hand hygiene.

A easy way to remember PPE removal is alphabetical order.
