Remington College of Nursing January 2015 ABSN

Published

Hello Everyone,

I am starting the post for anyone applying to Remington College of Nursing for the 2nd Degree Accelerated Bachelors of Nursing program in Lake Mary Florida. If you currently or previously attended RCON will join is as well.

Just got accepted today too! They also ask you to rank a few things on your phone interview like reading ability, organizational skills and technology skills.

See y'all in January!!! :)

Had my interview yesterday, and I was accepted!! See everyone in January! :)

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted. I just completed my interview and received acceptance this past week. Does anyone know where they will be living? I am from VA but have spent the past few years living in New Smyrna Beach so I am a little familiar with the area. If anyone wants to trade info let me know!

Would you all mind doing a quick share of acceptance stats? GPA/TEAS I'm looking to apply next round (after finishing prereqs) and wanted to get an idea of what RCON accepted for Jan 15. Congratulations - I hope to hear you are all enjoying the program and I'm making the right decision! :)

I too will be seeing you all in January! Please let me know if anyone knows any apartment recommendations!!

Wspkel, Are you thinking about carpooling at all? I'm actually going to be driving from Daytona beach to Lake Mary for classes.

Hey I was thinking about getting a place in lake mary because of the commute. I didn't know if it would be too much to do everyday. If I stay in Nsb then I am definitely interested in carpooling.

Specializes in ED,CVOR,OR.

Hi Everyone. I just got a provisional acceptance letter pending phone interview. Quite strange but I am ecstatic!! My phone interview is next week so I will be seeing you all in January as well. I am moving to Colonial Grand at Heathrow. I have an 11 year old and I needed the best school district. My apartment is about 10 minutes from the campus. There are tons of beautiful apartment complexes up and down Rineheart Road. My stats are Overall GPA 3.67 Science GPA 3.0 and Teas 85. Are you sure that you want to do 2 + hours of driving every day? I am worried that it my become stressful for you. I've heard that the program is really fast paced and hectic.

Well it's about a 45 minute commute one way, and I have a free place to stay where I am at now. If it becomes too hectic, I will look into an apartment, but I know the apartments are not cheap in the area and would rather save money since I won't be working.

I don't mind sharing my stats. 86% TEAS, 3.8 science gpa, and 3.4 cumulative gpa

Another option, I heard from a former RCON student, is to look into extended stay hotels. According to him, the hotel was really accommodating and much cheaper than an apartment. Most include laundry utilities, a kitchenette with a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, etc.
