remington college of nursing ABSN program for summer 2015 FL

Published

hi everyone! I'm creating a post since I haven't seen anything as of yet for the summer 2015 applicants for remington college. I have submitted my application for early decision and the application has just been processed. I was contacted by Melissa and told that interviews will be conducted beginning next week! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. has anyone else submitted their application? or plans on submitting it? look forward to hearing from other applicants and perspective students! =]

Hi Marina Nova,

Hope all is well. It appears as though there are a few other threads going on for the July 2015 cohort.

You should be expecting an admittance approval soon after your interview. Feel free to PM me if you need any detailed information about the program. It's an EXTREMELY RIGOROUS & STRESSFUL program, so buckle up for the ride and say good bye to all other aspects of your life for one year. You will eat, breathe, sleep, think, drink nursing 24 x 7, but you will be a well trained nurse in just one year !! The benefits outweigh the sacrifices and it's worth every moment. You will learn more and be challenged more than in any of your other learning experiences. It will be a rewarding, life changing experience that you definitely grow from and you will be able to handle any obstacles in your future career and education.

I wish you all the best .

hi thank you so much for responding! I really appreciate it. I did try to search a couple of times for any open or existing threads but nothing came up í ½í¸• however I appreciate you adding the links...as for a private message I'm new to all nurses and haven't exactly had the time to figure out how to work the site yet. have you attended remington personally? if yes is there anything that you would suggest or recommend that isn't exactly obvious or that possibly came as a surprise to you? thanks!

Hi there! I made a thread as well but no one really responded! I applied for early decision and was told my application would be reviewed in the next couple of weeks. She told you interviews would be next week? I am so happy to find someone who applied for early decision! I'm nervous but so excited and hope I get in!

yes! interviews are beginning next week although I have yet to hear of any available dates/times. :( I submitted everything for early decision but it seems like every time I try contacting someone at admissions I get the run around of "you will hear from us in a couple weeks time" it's driving me crazy because I live in NYC and I will have to relocate my family if I'm accepted and you can imagine what relocating a family is like when relocating just one person is difficult. where are you from? and when did you submit everything?

Oh my gosh that makes me feel so much better because I feel like I have been receiving a similar response and I didn't want to be annoying or overboard. I submitted everything about a week before the deadline but I accidentally didn't attach the FDLE waiver so I had to scan it over. And then one of my recommendation letters (both of mine were sent directly to the college from my evaluators not in my personal application package) got lost or something in the mail and just got there last week :(. So I was freaking out thinking I wasn't going to even be considered for early decision anymore and I really needed to be because I am applying for the HRSA scholarship and applications are due May 20th. Like you have to be admitted and in good standing by May 20th! But she emailed me yesterday and said yes I am still in the early decision and my application will be reviewed in the next couple of weeks. I don't know what that means though, like interviews in the next couple of weeks or it hasn't even been processed yet? I'm not sure, I did receive the email confirming my application was received as the ticket receipt. Wow yes I can imagine how stressful that would be! It's going to be hard relocating myself 3 hours away over there. I can try and help you if you want since I'm in Florida at least! I'm originally from Ormond Beach FL but currently live in Boca Raton finishing my bachelors at FAU. I graduate April 30th then go back to Ormond which is only 45 min to an hour from Lake Mary however I will be getting an apartment much much closer to campus if I am admitted! Can I ask your GPA and TEAs?

omg! I'm applying for the same scholarship and I feel like a pest contacting admissions on a weekly basis. I did submit most of the application for the scholarship just waiting on the actual acceptance letter and praying it will get here more than a day before the application deadline if I were to be accepted. my overall gpa is a 3.5 with science gpa at 3.3 I scored in the 98th percentile for the program and nationwide for the teas so all my sections were 90 or above. I don't know the exact scores though but I don't think they look at the test scores as harshly as say ten years ago because some people are just bad test takers. all I know is that it was a brutal five hours and I am happy it's done and I don't have to go through it again. how about you? what are your stats? oh and thanks for offering to help on the move! I really appreciate that =D

Mine aren't so good, I had a really rough undergrad career losing both of my parents and picking up a full time job while working but I stuck through and graduate in April! I got in the 88th percentile or something around that, definitely did best on science, math and reading. That grammar section got me! And my downfall is my GPA I have a 2.90 but so far I have straight As this semester so if all goes well when I send my upgraded transcripts I'll have a 3.0! I explained my situation in my essay and I really hope they take it into consideration as a young adult because I'm such a hard worker and this is my passion. You have great stats I am so sure you will get in! :)

Do you have previous health experience? And wow haha yeah that's why I'm freaking out because the HRSA scholarship won't consider you if your not already accepted! Phew so many things to fall into place right! I'm still working on my application I didn't want to go crazy with it in case I didn't get in, you already submitted yours?

Picking up a full time job while also in school full time I meant* lol

wow! I'm so sorry for your loss it seems like you have definitely been through a lot and my hat goes off to you because I can only imagine the stress that it has brought upon you! but you have managed to persevere and conquer the challenges placed in your path and those are the qualities that make a nurse extraordinary. I am sure that by reading your essay and seeing your dedication they will be able to overlook the minor shortcomings in gpa. more and more schools have started looking at students as a whole instead of just numbers on a paper which is great because I strongly believe that a great rn arises from all of the challenges both academic and personal that they have had to overcome in life. your teas scores are great as well! I'm sure that will be taken into consideration with your application. I have extensive healthcare experience working side by side with doctors but all of the people I've worked with had their own private practice so I don't have any hospital experience which could be a downfall. believe it or not even with my stats I have found it hard to get into a nursing school in my home state! and no I haven't submitted the scholarship application since the application requires all moving parts to be completed because of the ways it's structured before you can submit it.

I'm so glad to have found this post! I too have applied for summer 2015, and am getting so anxious for a decision! I have been in touch with the admissions coordinator, and she said I could expect to get an email about interviews soon. Anyone else start the interview process yet? I would love to hear some feedback about how it goes! Good luck to you all.
