I had a mini-stroke today (I think) after I bought my class notes and saw the redonkulous amount of work I have headed for me this semester, not including clinicals. In the temporary fugue state (ha!) that followed, I began to reminisce about days of yore, when I was an art and psychology major. Those were the days! If only I had it so good now.
If you have been to college previously, remember when:
- You thought getting up to be on time for a 9:00 A.M. class was just ungodly early?
- You NEVER bought class materials three weeks before school started? I could have cared less what was going to be going on in the semester, and it was never stressful enough to warrant such measures.
- You spent most of your time hanging out with friends, girlfriends/boyfriends, day dreaming, napping, doing almost anything but studying (and still managed to pass everything)?
- You could actually have a beer on a school night without fear of passing out, from the alcohol combining with utter exhaustion?
- You didn't have to organize everything to death and schedule every waking moment for something school-related?
- You totally didn't get those people who had to get an A in every class?
-You felt sorry for those poor schmucks who were nursing majors because they had to get up SOOOO early in the morning and write care plans?
It's amazing where nursing school takes us! Anyone else want to play along?
has anyone gone from being in nursing classes, back to a prereq class with non-nursing students in it?I feel like they are all idiots and I dont even have to show up to the class to get an A.
Yes! I took a state government class last summer, and I was making 100's on THOSE multiple choice tests, and didn't feel like I put in much effort at all. And yeah, non-nursing students sometimes seem like simpletons compared to us. I'm not trying to be mean, but it just takes a whole different person to go to nursing school.
And don't you just LOVE to hear non-nursing students complain about how busy they are with school? lol
I remember when I'd drink till 6am, sleep till 7:30am, then take exams at 8am. Even though I was still too drunk to comprehend the questions, I still somehow got A's.Hey maybe I should try this on my patho final this week! psh yeah right
Ah, yes, been there, done that RyanT. My final exam for one particular class was scheduled in the afternoon, around 4pm. I spent my morning/early afternoon at the bar, somehow found my way class to take my final, aced it, and went back to the bar...my final grade for the class: 3.5.......ahhh.....good times.
